ytd was singapore first ever F1 race, and the world's first ever night race.. on this day, i learnt pretty much abt the ups and downs of life...
fernando alonso, 2 time world champion, defied all odds to win the race ytd night.. this was after saturday's disastrous qualifying for him that caused him to start ytd's race in the 15th position...
becoz of a fuel pressure problem, alonso has to abandon his car during the qualifying on saturday and was clearly upset judging from his reactions after climbing out of de car... as quoted from him on saturday, he said "The race is lost. You can't overtake here and I'm starting from 15th, so I will be going out just to lap the track, but it's over already", clearly indicating that he's kinda resigned to de fate that he cant win..
but slightly less than 24hrs later, due to various reasons here and there, alonso was leading the pack and went on to win the singapore grand prix.. alonso was thrilled wif the win and he said "I think I need a couple of days to realise that we won a race this year which seemed impossible all season to be that close to the top guys."
talk abt change of fortune.. one day everybody, including he himself, had thought his adventure in singapore was over, and the very next day he completed the feat that "seemed impossible" to juz abt everyone..
i guess this is juz life ba.. u nvr know when it's gonna goes up or down... it could very well go right up to the top one day, and the next day it juz falls to the pit bottom.. i suppose life is like a brand new race track.. u duno when's de next turn, and whether it's a left or right turn.. u duno how sharp is it and so u duno whether u hafta turn real slow or u can go quite quick on it... but as u learn abt that kind of turn, u gain experience and when u encounter a similar turn, though in a different stage of the track, u can execute the turn quite smoothly..
for me... ya, ytd was a good lesson abt the ups and downs of life..
