this is a week of departures... several ppl are leaving, at least from my life... it's like the lines that represent the paths of our lives that were intercepted became separated...

starting wif tues, was the ORD of neo.. great personality, taught me a lot abt accountancy, coz he took private courses for it.. oso a very good soccer player, and i always enjoy playing in the same team as him, somehow his vision and good play can always make me play better too..

however, i guess i'll feel quite bad abt his ORD for some time.. becoz originally there was some kind of dinner gathering for 2 guys who had ORD-ed last yr plus de others currently still in de platoon, and neo was de organiser.. however, me n another person backed out coz we were de newer batch ppl and we didnt really noe that 2 guys very well, so we felt awkward to go.. i didnt tink neo would den cancel de dinner and so he had no program at all that night out, that very last nite out b4 his ORD... den i suggested that mayb tues nite out we can go movie or sth, at least sth special on his last day.. however, due to one guy feeling tired and having bike course de next day, and de other guy doesnt wan to watch the movie we wanna watch, only left wif me n neo, and so we cancelled it as well =/ i guess this explains my feeling bad..

den fast forward 3 days to today.. today is my bde comd COC parade, ie he's posting out and a new commander is coming in... according to sebas, who was marching and so nearer to the commander (de outgoing one, i'll refer to only him during this entire entry), that he was really sad.. i believe he's a true man, and wont fake anything, and so if his face shows sadness, he's indeed sad.. he really put in alot of efforts in wadever he does, and he's really an on-the-ground commander.. although he has de rank, he walks wif his men during exercises, regardless of how difficult the terrain is, how long the walk is etc etc... and sebas also had a talk wif him earlier this year with some others from the coy... commander always like to talk to us in a group, and at one time he said sth abt him not realising that his children has grown taller, wif his son exceeding his height le, and his daughter growing taller too.. at first when i heard this i tot he was juz exaggerating... but according to sebas, it seems to be the truth... it seems like commander spent alot of time at work and so most of the time when he reaches home his children are asleep..

during his farewell speech, he oso mentions stuff abt him neglecting his family at times due to work, and as his signaller, i noe how hard he works.. quite a workaholic i muz say.. always demands the best of himself... so i can sense his regret abt not being able to spend more time with his family and i believe a parent can really be shocked if such a simple thing like ur child's height u oso duno, when u all live under the same roof...

perhaps like wad wy said, mayb we shld haf broken the rules and given him a quick salute when we drove and approached him during the parade... and he was right to say that no other commander can replace this outgoing one, becoz simply he's juz one of a kind.. perhaps this is de only time i feel pity that i wasnt in de marching contingent.. that i can show the respect for him...

another person going off is aloy, although his ORD date is around 3 wks away, but his last day is oso today, coz he'll be clearing off n leave all the way liao, until the day comes to collect his pink IC.. but guess he had a 'memorable' nite last nite, haha... butt got treated like a boot... lolol...

had initially wanted to talk abt other stuff, but this wk's stuff brought abt this post first, so de other post gotta wait for a while, but not too long i guess..
